Yesterday, after having driven over two speed bumps (slowly), I got a warning that “Steering Assist is reduced”. The warning popped up a few minutes after I started the car — so within 5 minutes of the speed bumps. The sequence was
Speed bumps -> drive 30 seconds -> park for 5 minutes-> start car to go forward -> warning message.
I have an appointment at the SC for tomorrow to fix the front drivers side trim piece over the wheel well (unrelated issue). Three questions: Might the two problems be related? Ie., Could the squirrel-y loose trim piece have done something that caused the warning? Do I really need to tell Tesla about the warning message before I bring the car in tomorrow? (It took 8 days to get an appointment). And, is it safe to drive to the SC?
Thanks for your insight!
