So I have been seeing a lot of post explaining how much influence Ben Johnson had on the system Blough wants to play however it seems to be a bit overhyped in my own opinion, Blough only had 1 year on the detriot practice squad while Ben Johnson was the OC, the other years in detriot (his original stint) Ben Johnson was still a Quality Control coach and was only promoted to TE Coach by Dan Campbell in Blough last year (Lynn got denoted from OC halfway through Blough last season in Detroit, and Ben Johnson was named Passing Game Coordinator but wasn’t calling plays), so in both stints combined he had only 1 year of Ben Johnson calling plays, yes he probably helped in many ways outside of that year, its worth nothing that it was really only under Campbell when this “Ben Johnson system” of play was getting used, so his first 2 years in Detroit I can’t imagine his ideology was especially highlighted to a young Blough

Meanwhile the next few years he signs to Arizona under Kliff and later spent his first two years coaching under Kliff so in total spending 3 years coaching with Kliff

My Question is why do we assume that Blough will be running a system that will be heavily similar to Ben Johnson when he spent much longer time with guys like Bevel, Lynn(who ofc is working with him still), and of course Kingsbury.

It just feels like we are generally overhyping one year on the Detroit Practice Squad over his time with many other coaches
