I imagine this may be somewhat posting into the void, but my husband and I (both professors) are moving back to Brooklyn after a few years away. We just came back from a house hunting trip empty handed despite applying to four places 🥲 Anyway, if anyone happens to have a place $4800 or less that meets these criteria, we would love to take it off your hands:

Start date: June 1 (year long plus lease sought)
Budget: $4800 (but some wiggle room for the perfect place)
Size: 1-2 bedrooms
Pets: 2 cats
Neighborhoods: prospect heights, cobble hill, boerum hill, north slope, crown heights, bed stuy, ft Greene, Clinton hill
Amenities: In-unit washer dryer (a girl can dream)

Thanks, folks!

Looking for some advice: My husband and I are looking for an apartment in brownstone brooklyn for June 1. We have a high income (combined $300,000+), good jobs, and good credit, and are applying to places around $4500-5000. We do have two cats. So far we've been rejected by all three apartments we applied to (all of which claim to be cat friendly).

I'm thinking we might be getting rejected because we are applying from Texas and people think we are sketchy or something? We keep emphasizing in our application that we have lived in Brooklyn recently and know the neighborhood and are willing to meet over zoom, but that hasn't worked.

Any advice to stand out/not turn off landlords by being remote applicants?
