8/3 speed commuter hybrid. Not sure what current one is (a shimano of some kind) but 'replacement' is Shimano 105 R7100 Crankset - 160mm 52/36T 12 Speed.

Sorry if dumb q still learning.

I'm about 166cm with a ridiculously short inseam (~28.5" measured bike-way). My bike currently has 175 cranks which are way too long for me to ride comfortably without knee issues. Tried today to just switch out the crank arms with some 155s from an older bike but they weren't compatible and looking in to the chainring and bb currently on there I don't think there is any 155/160s that would be (at least none I can get my mitts on).

So basically my q is: Can I just find a kids bike with the same gearing as mine and an appropriate length crank then completely replace my bb, chain ring & cranks? Or is there something else I'm missing here.

Pretty new to anything re bike repair and mechanics so sorry if it's a dumb question aha.
