Kerosene? (Machine Maintenance Q!)
I've recently been gifted a vintage sewing machine, a White Rotary 77 in table. Simple, straight stitch machine.
I'm flipping through the manual and see it recommends to be cleaned and degreased with kerosene. This feels dated?
I've taken a minute to look it up and not finding much for clarity, and I apologize if this has already been asked and I've missed it.
is this still the standard solvent for this task?
Is there a more current solvent that may be less of a fire hazard?
I'm seeing diluted vinegar recommended, and a high percentage isopropyl. Are these just as effective?
All input is appreciated :)
