Tie rod boot grease question

Hi all,

I'm working on my 2015 XLT 2.7L SCREW.

Replacing my tie-rods with OEM parts. They come with new boots and clamps. When removing the old boots it seemed like there was some type of grease under the boot where it was clamped down. Maybe this was just grease from the rack?

Is it good practice to put some type of silicone or other type of grease on there? or just put on dry.

I wiped off any debris/grease from the ends of the steering rack that are sticking out. Should I put some type of lube on that? There wasn't a lot, but there was some oil/grease on it for sure.

I do have the tool to install the OEM clamp, so I'm good there.

Thanks!
