After years of knowing I wanted to try this game, I finally went for it and knew I had to create an external system to truly succeed and appreciate what I was playing. I was for the most part blind; I know all the core world and story beats from being a lifelong TESIV and V fan, but did not know the intricacies. There's definitely a world where I could've played the game without a notetaking tool like this open on another monitor, but the level of immersion and focus it brought me was half the experience, honestly.
My playthrough was a good mix of vanilla and Tamriel Rebuilt content. I did hardly anything in Cyrodiil and Skyrim, and am content with saving those areas (plus the hundreds of things I missed in Vvardenfell and Mainland MW) for later playthroughs. My notes were pretty fast and loose, but I'm happy to try and answer questions about it and/or my playthrough experiences.
- The biggest dots are either note pages for cities or factions, I rarely took notes about an NPC on their note page. Top right big node is the Main Quest.
- For those unfamiliar with Obsidian, the dark grey dots are note pages that I've referenced in other notes, but I haven't actually created yet. Kinda like a placeholder link on wikis.
I was a longsword and shield heavy armor wearing Fighters Guild member who did some occasional Hlaalu and EEC quests. My favorite questlines I played were the Old Ebonheart EEC ones. Defeated Dagoth Ur at 66 hours playitme.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. Thought this would be neat to share, I really enjoyed finally playing this game and seeing all the beauty of it (as well as rough parts). I've also enjoyed grumbling "outlander..." to myself under my breath for the last month hahahaha
