Hey r/summerprogramresults! Sharing this for any students looking for a serious, hands-on research experience this summer.
BioResearch Academy is a high school biology/neuroscience research program where students work on original, cutting-edge projects — real science that hasn't been done before, not textbook labs or simulations. Students train in advanced techniques that are genuinely useful in college; one of our recent alumni landed a position at her top-10 college's medical school by referencing some of the skills she learned, for example. Please note that we are a paid program.
Here's a student blog if you'd like a firsthand look: https://srajaya02.medium.com/unraveling-the-mysteries-of-alzheimers-my-transformative-summer-of-neuroscience-research-at-9962eb17c3f9
Our program is intentionally small, with around 15 students usually, which allows for real face time and mentorship from Harvard Professor Samuel Kunes.
Our alumni speak for themselves:
- Accepted to top universities
- Won competitive science fairs
- Published research
We're most proud, though, that many alumni are now pursuing PhDs in biology — a sign that this experience genuinely sparks passion and lays a foundation for long-term success.
