I am in the process of making a cushion for a rocking chair I have. I would like it to be rounded and therefore need to figure out the perimeter. The formula above is for the perimeter of a rounded rectangle (found on mathworld website). I would like to solve for the other dimensions by picking a perimeter however I can’t figure out how to solve for everything else.
It has been some time since I have taken algebra so I cannot remember if there is a way to solve for all the other variables knowing one variable. I know trial and error is an option but I thought there was a way.
If there is, what way should I go about it? If not, is trial and error the only option?
