Adonia's Ego/Shaper of Winter Stormweaver
Since 0.5 isn't bringing a new class, I've been looking to do another Arc Stormweaver. Until the patch notes and passive tree, it is hard to get too specific, but I had a few build ideas from 0.4 that I was interested in and didn't get to use. The two that stood out to me were Shaper of Winter/Cold and Adonia's Ego since they seem like they could mesh well together.
So here is the rough idea:
Adonia's Ego consumes Power Charges to give more Elemental Damage and make all damage Shock, Ignite, and Freeze. Power Charges can be gained with Infusions of Power, giving one per Infusion used. To get around the Wand's downside, Infusions of Power can be run on Weapon 2 to limit when Power Charges are generated, then consumed by Adonia's Ego when swapping back to Weapon 1.
Shaper of Winter makes all damage Chill with Heavy Snows for double Chills. This pairs with Adonia's Ego since that will only add Freeze, not Chill. Shaper of Winter also allows the damage type to remain Lightning for scaling instead of needing to convert to Cold to get Chill.
And while the above should work with pretty much any spell, Arc's chaining can get decent coverage, especially with Wildshards. Also, Thunderstorm should help with Shock as well as Freeze from Adonia's Ego.
It might be a bit overkill to do both, but it seems like they'd synergize sorta well. You could run Call of the Brotherhood instead of Shaper of Winter to save Ascendancy points with Adonia's Ego still giving Shock chance, but I'd rather keep the focus on Lightning Damage instead of needing to scale Cold.
The main downside of going with Shaper of Winter is it takes half the Ascendancy. It could run Force of Will or Multiplying Squalls, but not with Strike Twice which I'd probably still go with for the double shock. So, the last Ascendancy would likely be Constant Gale or Storm's Recollection.
Only other thing I noted about the build is that Adonia's Ego should allow for more ways to trigger Arbiter's Ignition for Archon. Previously, I'd run it on Flame Wall or Elemental Storm with some Extra as Fire to trigger ignites, but if all damage can Ignite with Adonia's Ego, I should be able to slot Arbiter's Ignition on any damaging support skill like Orb of Storms or Thunderstorm.
So, any thoughts on this build concept? Would Shaper of Winter and Adonia's Ego pair well or does it seem a bit redundant? And any tips or suggestions for things to look into when building it?
