Captured her groggy in the late afternoon trying to get some rest. She's raising three owlets under a bridge.

Lens performs admirably with adequate light and careful focusing.

It’s a great lightweight zoom for nature photos on sunny days.

Manual focusing is slow but smooth.
Between the IS in the lens and body I was able to shoot sharp photos hand held 400mm @ 1/250 (did this to drop ISO on some of my photos).

The owl pic I included was shot at 400mm F8 1/650 ISO 1250, a bit mushier due to ISO but not that bad.
