My previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/GATEtard/s/SJN9RLfl6n

So I was not shortlisted with a remark of a 3 year bachelor's degree. I mailed them and this is their reply.

I mean if they wanted only 4 year degree, could have clearly mentioned it. What do they mean by shortlisting criterion for degree? Gate score is understandable as it is not known and can fluctuate. But taking my application fees, and then saying we have another criteria with degree seems wrong as beforehand they mentioned I am eligible.

I couldn't fill IIT-Madras form because they had this filter. And IIT-Jodhpur clearly mentioned in their brochure. Bad practice by IIT-GUWAHATI.

Anyways sharing the GATE SCORE cutoff they sent me.

Their eligibility criteria says: through a study of at least 6 years duration (in any format, including 2+4, 3+3, 2+5, 2+3+2) after Class 10.

I have 7 years of study, class 12 (2years), Bsc CS (3 years), Msc CS (2years) [so 2+3+2].

So why did they give this remark? I am okay with not being shortlisted if the gatescore is low, but the given remark is confusing me about the eligibility criteria.

Please help me understand this, am I missing something?

Thank you in advance.
