You don't know anything else about the cat, but it feels special to you. This is a particular cat.
You awake standing on a pressure switch, blindfolded, and are given the knowledge that everyone in the world is on this switch with you, and a trolley is headed towards you, on a parallel track. Your superhuman intuition and 7th sense tells you this is true.
You are unbound, and are able to leave the pressure switch at any time. But you also know that if more than half the people leave, the switch will deactivate and reroute the trolley to your collective track.
You have 10 seconds to decide, and 12 seconds before the trolley arrives.
You are also deaf and can't hear or feel anyone's shuffling because you traded those senses for your intuition.
Edit: HARD MODE. This is EVERYONE, as they are. Children, babies, depressed people, anyone who may suffer a personal ailment that would interfere with their decision making or carrying out of the decision.
Personal wrap up So after all this, I started on team blue button, blue tracks whatever. Then I started to shift towards red, given I can't "risk" leaving my family. But then considering that they might be in the same circumstance, including my 1 year old child, and similarly less capable people, I'm staunchly in blue territory again.
