Overflow plunger stuck
Our bath tub has been draining slow for a while and I believe the overflow valve mechanism is stuck. Plunging has not helped and I would like to avoid draino.
When I dissembled the overflow to seal the drain, the bolts basically crumbled due to how corroded they were. The switch connection to the vertical linkage has also broken off. I’m completely unable to lift the mechanism vertically up and out. I tried using pliers to lift, but nothing moved. I’m worried to try again out of fear of breaking the linkage. Not sure what else to try here. Could this be causing slow drainage? Any suggestions on how to fix?
