Yukon 1.0 ash removal

Bought a used Yukon with accessories for it on Facebook marketplace for $100 not realizing it was a 1.0 version (this is my first time buying a solo stove so I did not know there was 2 versions). Sellers left the Yukon filled to the brim with ash which is why im assuming they sold it so cheap cause they couldn’t be bothered to clean it themselves. How in the actual hell do you get the ash out without pulling your hair out in the process and sending ash out to your neighbors like it’s a sandstorm. I’d love to hear some other tips besides having to buy the pellet adapter. It just sucks if I have to buy a $100 accessory for better removal. I’ve even thought about just cutting my own small hole in the middle of the top grate just to make the dumping process easier but that’s another tool I would have to make an expense for.
