What if the entire series is being told by jack marston, reading his father’s and Arthurs journals and putting it in his book ‘Red Dead’ in gta V, this would explain why the whole story and events stay the same, but certain details such as Arthurs honour, killing or sparing Javier, or how Arthur and john can do certain npc missions because its just jack or his readers filling out the blanks. It also explains how johns ending is the same regardless of his honour as Jack lives it while he wouldn’t remember rdr2 and Arthur much and relies on the journal left to him
