All progress torpedoed at 6 months

I don’t know what to do. We sleep trained our baby at 4.5 months, he’s now almost 6.5 months. From 4.5-6 months, he took to sleep training well. He was sleeping mostly through the night or would wake once, the worst nights were twice max. We would usually get a long stretch regardless. At 6 months, when he learned to roll, it all fell apart. He will NOT stop rolling on his belly, which snowballs into an absolute meltdown. He can’t rolling belly to back. There’s nothing we can do, we’re back to rocking him to sleep. We get 3 hour stretch, then he’s awake on his belly again. Another 2-4 if we are lucky, back to belly again. We are resorting to feeding him to sleep in the middle of the night and even co-sleeping now which we never did before.

This isn’t a sleep pressure thing. We have experimented with it all - transitioning to 2 naps, all the recommended daytime/nap/sleep pressure best practices. It’s the same outcome no matter what.

This is unsustainable, we need our little guy to learn to sleep independently again. Has anyone experienced something similar?
