Struggling to blend lines
What’s up guys, so this is my second time cutting my own hair, first time was honestly a bit better I think but both times I’ve really struggled to get the lines out. I know I need practice but I don’t understand what to do differently to actually blend the lines. I’m using a vgr 285 if that matters.
My process is I start with debunking everything with a 2 guard lever open and debulk everything. I then use a silicone guide band and go no guard lever closed and set my bottom line. Then I go lever fulll open and flick out going about a half inch above that first guide line. Then I go half guard lever half open and do the same thing a half inch above the last line. And then from there I try a bunch of different stuff to get the lines out, I mainly try almost “scrubbing” with the clippers using the corner and different lever settings/guards to try to blend the lines but nothing seems to be working.
I have realized that literally no one cares or pays attention enough to other people’s haircuts unless they’re a barber so that’s reassuring haha. Any direction would be appreciated so I can keep improving, thanks!
