This show never fully clicked with me before. I was cautiously cutious about this show when i was a kid, and when I had more dependence during my teenage years I respected it, but it never really resonated a lot with my on a bigger level. But now... god I dont know how many pf these kinds of posts you get here, its obviously nothing new..... but i... finally get it. Like, I finally understand the hook this show had on everyone back then. I would mostly just have curious phases of returning to see what this show's fandom was, checking out a good lot, but never really getting into the meat and bones cause when I tried to get into this show back then, it just didnt work.

But now... maybe its because im actually an adult how with real problems and real responsibilities, but it finally clicked, chat I GET it now, IT, you know, what everyone went nuts over when this series launched. And its not because im seeing it as this big bombastic deep complex show... its because its just a really well made comfort show. Its a really well made comfort show with comfort characters and a comfort world which in turn are all generally well written and nice to watch. The show, specifically the first 3 seasons, is all just extremely enjoyable and fun without it feeling too kidsy like the other gens of mlp, while never going near cynical.

Im having my Danny devito moment, im like squidward finally discovering he really loves something after everyone's left. In a current atmosphere where im just trying to find entertainment thats just lighthearted, wholesome and whimsical in a more cynical entertainment enviornment, this show is finally speaking to me. Wouldn't consider myself a brony, but I think Ive finally jumped on the bandwagon of understanding the hype. Maybe a bit too late but I can't help myself.

This is just a really well made show with really well made cast and a really well made world. And I think thats what adults back then needed in the current world, and now IM finally going through that now that im an adult. Sometimes you just need a secret well crafted comfort show to make your day a little better. Thanks Lauren.

The LAST thing on my 2026 bingo card was checking out MLP fim again after such a long time, and rarity unironically becoming my favorite of the main 6 over pinkie, even by season 1. Seriously I just vibe with her personality and design the most its crazy. That and a family friend of mine opened a boutique and ive sorta grown an appreciation for them.

I think I know what it is tho:

You know when theirs a conventionally attractive female character who's all about beauty & wealth, and that character usually obviously becomes a villain or antagonist of some kind to go with the trope? Rarity's that, but without the evil, and i just really like that. She just a lil lady passionate about her craft & looks and I just like that someone like that is allowed to be a part of the main cast. She's adorably dainty, old timey, and wears her generosity on her sleeve & I love it.
