Serious question / safety etc.

I’ve tried to research. This isn’t a troll post at all.

I have a few months off from work and want to travel the USA. Save some money by camping and then staying in a hotel maybe 1 or 2 times a week.

I’ve watched a lot of true crime shows about in general campers being shot and or killed in Arizona etc. I mean I didn’t choose that subject, just what was on.

What safety precautions do you all take while camping?

Stay at national parks if you can as opposed to disbursed?

I’m solo camping so with other campers around?l maybe?

Getting a gun and traveling with?

Wire trigger around camp?

Or just stop worrying and do it?

Yeah I know the chances of being murdered while camping are like zero, I think I’d sleep better with some sort of “safety” mechanism.

Any advice I’d appreciate. Thnx.

Flew to Colorado to purchase. 9500 miles on bike.

Then drove it south to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, west to Phoenix, then back east through Texas, Ozarks and back home.

Coming from a bike with 42HP and 5 gears, this thing did not disappoint. And in Lubbock, a field tornado ran right through me. Never felt wind like in Lubbock before. At the McDonalds, charging phone, some older Harley guys jokingly told me they ride right slanted right no matter what they are so used to wind.

I changed the oil in Santa Fe. Added the Panniers, touratech 12mm bar, the owner of moto pumps who lives in northern Colorado even made me a bracket so I could pick up for my trip.

Since then ordered a rear fender guard (just like the look), headlight guard, and a rhino walk tank bag which I really like.

Next going to see about changing out the front fork springs to better springs or a cartridge system. Dive is pretty bad.

But I’m happy to be part of the bmw moto world. And nice to be able to pass trucks on the highway without saying a prayer each time ;)

Hi.

Looked in my manual, unless I’m missing it zero pages for forks. Even looked in back for a page.

Is this the drain plug to drain fork oil? I think I saw online my type of bike does not have. So jw. Thanks.

Hi all. Hope all is well!

So when parking bike most the time and or loaded with gear, it’s hard as hell to lean bike back over because the kickstand is so short. I’m 5’10 (not tall or short) and at times it’s a hell of a chore. Or if spot if dipped to left.

The PO has a touratech mount on bottom which helps. But thin.

I saw I think src moto has a nice thick mount instead of the like half inch one on now, but of course out of stock.

Any suggestions for something similar by a different brand?

Also I can’t seem to find actual longer kickstands. Do they not exist?

Thnx.
