Canon iP8720 Printhead Overheating

tl;dr I believe my printhead is fried and am looking for recommendations for a replacement or alternative solution.

I'm using PrecisionColor's aftermarket cartridges. Been using their ink refills on modified OEM carts for about a year now without any issues and recently switched to their carts. Was printing out some full-page high-quality photos the other day and by the third page there were no magenta tones at all. Did a test page and the magenta/gray were very streaky.

Ran 2 deep clean cycles and was back to normal. Restarted the photo print with same result: 2 pages were okay and then the reds start to disappear. Repeated this process a few times with the same results. Then tried again without doing the deep cleans (just waited 5 minutes) with same results.

Attempted 5 pages on normal paper at normal quality, printed fine. Tried photo paper at normal quality and it was starting to fade/streak by the 5th page. Fed this info into ChatGPT and it says it's likely a printhead overheating problem rather than a clog. This makes sense to me.

I've seen in other posts that replacing the printhead can be both expensive and unreliable (lots of counterfeits), so I'm wondering if anybody has a reliable source or alternative solution. I'm "that guy with the printer" in my family/friend group, so I'd like to continue printing photos in high quality.
