Just a theory, that will probably be wrong:

There is a distinct difference between the ammo grot and the previewed grots. My theory is that the young grots look like the ones we have seen this week, and the older, mature, fully grown ones look more like the ammo grot to give us some variation in design. It would also potentially help differentiating them if we do get more elite grots through a killteam or a grot HQ.

I came across this 3d print earlier - just the 1 mini in this design I believe. He looks awesome, just missing a cap badge on his beret.

Now a regiment like this would be very cool imo.
