How do you guys determine if news for a stock is a good thing for the stock or not? I understand buying volume and being higher than selling volume after news is dropped is a good thing to look for as I’m not into shorting stocks but I’ve seen multiple people predict that because of this news catalyst a stock will eventually run during that week or eventually within that month.

My guess is that they are predicting this from in-depth research of when that stock ran before and following that same pattern or when that same type of news catalyst has dropped for similar stocks but I’m not so sure. Please give me your insights (road to becoming a full time day trader)
