I need to have a really difficult conversation with a team member this week. Not going to put any details here because, well because you never know who is reading these. But it’s a conversation that will leave the other person upset and will dent their confidence a lot. Also potential that they will blow up.
I need to deliver a message that is long overdue from several previous generations of manager before me. I’ve been laying the groundwork so hopefully won’t come completely as a surprise.
Anyway, my question is whether you always do the ‘right’ thing for your company when making decisions, even if they are harder. I often find that nobody higher up would really be that fussed if I took the wrong-but-easy option.
