Greetings everyone. Forgive my noobness, but would something like this be safe to proof the stand I use with my R9? I have it hanging on a sturdy wall hanger, which according to my luthier is the best way to keep guitars - even better than in the case, but want to protect it as best I can.

It's basically sports tape made with 100% cotton fabric with zinc oxide based glue. I read about Newbaum's cotton bar tape, but can't seem to be able to get it in Europe.
