I’ve been wanting a labiaplasty since I hit puberty and one side of my labia started growing a lot faster than the other. I’m 25 now and both sides have gotten significantly longer, and the longer side is now almost 3inches 😅 I’ve chickened out of my scheduled surgery twice so far (once due to an insurance issue but also because I’m anxious about regretting it). I’m planning to get it through my gyno, who has a lot of experience with labiaplasties and has been an all around great doctor to me. I have a few questions that are fueling my anxiety about getting the surgery that I would really appreciate firsthand input on:
My labia are continuing to grow and I’m worried that I’ll get surgery and then they’ll just grow back to their prior size and I’ll need surgery again. Did your labia grow back after surgery?
I’ve heard stories about loss of sensation and it makes me nervous . My labia have sensation and visible veins running through them (maybe that’s normal? Lol) and have a lot of nerves, I’m worried sex will be painful or feel weird because of the lack of sensation or sensation coming back in a different way. Is it common to lose sensation or have painful sex post-recovery, or did things pretty much return to normal after surgery?
I’m nervous about the healing with such a large amount of skin being removed. What was your healing experience if you had a lot of skin removed?
It’s something I know I want to do but I feel like I need some firsthand experiences to feel less nervous about it and actually follow through!!TYIA :)
