Gifting an airgun
Hi airgun enthusiasts. Admittedly very out of my element here, but any help would be much appreciated. My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and he also just bought land for the first time. He has plenty of "real" guns (sorry if this is derogatory here) but also neighbors, and very fond childhood memories of plinking cans and squirrels with a .22 air rifle in the backyard. He's expressed interest in owning a .22 air rifle now at his new place, but it's not something he'd buy himself anytime soon.
He'd most often be shooting around 50 yards or less at targets or small mammals. The quieter the better. He also values brand reputation and the ability to tinker/modify his guns as much as possible.
I'm on about a $350 budget including ammo (and anything else?). I've gathered that PCP is probably the way to go, but that's about it. I've seen good things about:
- Umarex Notos
- Air Venturi Avenger
- Gamo Urban
Also open to hearing if you think it's a bad idea to buy him one as a gift, but kindly tell me why :)
