Any other CHCCS parents thinking it's time to dial back classroom tech?
And if so, how do you even go about getting the conversation started? It's not even just about using chromebooks in the classroom. The chaos of all the apps and platforms they use makes it so that half the time they don't know where assignments actually live and as a parent there's no way of keeping track of what they're working on, what grades they're getting on assignments and tests and what they're even supposed to be doing for homework.
As a middle school parent I get pinged on email, text, TalkingPoints, Infinite Campus, and Final Forms for sports - it's too much. I would love to see a return to text books, composition notebooks (where they actually have to write) and worksheets because I genuinely think that's how kids learn best but with all the money in these ed tech contracts I'm guessing we'll never get back there.
Would love to hear thoughts from other community members who may feel the same way (or not).
