Hey everyone, I’m currently in my 3rd year and trying to understand how things really compare between internship and placement season specifically sde roles.
I’ve heard mixed opinions, so wanted some clarity from seniors who’ve gone through both:
Which is tougher to crack in terms of getting an interview shortlist — internship OAs or placement OAs?
During internships, competition feels very high since everyone (including strong candidates) applies. But in placements, many top people already have PPOs — does that make placement OAs relatively easier?
Or does placement season become equally (or even more) competitive because everyone is better prepared by then (stronger DSA, more experience, previous OA exposure, etc.)?
Basically trying to understand:
Is it harder to stand out during internship season or placement season?
Would really appreciate honest insights based on actual experience (especially from people who have seen both phases).
