I think they dont travel that fast on earth because traveling at that speed would just vaporize everything around them, they are not routinely gonna make city leveling sonic booms in fights, but they can travel that fast in vacuum, and also we have established that Mark is almost always holding back because of his morals, and Nolan didnt want people to know what he was actually capable of.
Interested in seeing what others think
I havent seen much animated stuff but i do not understand the amount of hate the animation of this show gets, i watched the entire series without seeing any memes / discussions of it and i had no idea that so many people are bothered by it
Especially the scenes without fighting in it, they do the facial expressions, body movements and thats it, what the fuck else is there to put, even if they did spent way more time on it it would make no impact on the viewer whos there for the story and experience
The japanese style of drawing is sooo blurry, cluttered and has low contrast in my opinion, but to be fair that is mostly preference but im not a big fan of that, i prefer the invincible / rick and morty kind of animation that is sharp, high contrast and kinda minimalistic, but again this is preference
Now what in my opinion isnt preference is the entire physics of fights and battles and the general animation of the physics, its is fast, sharp, FLUID and NATURAL, and this is way better then the slow motion slide shows that ive seen in many japanese mainstream series, hit, then a 3 second slowmotion frame that pans from side to side for a few seconds and repeat, and the amount of frame skipping they do in some japanese style animes pisses me the fuck off, it isnt fluid, the way that they show what is going on in invincible just leaves more then a good enough image in my head
Obviously if they could spend more money on animation and put in more detail it would be even better but even if it is left at this the style is more then good enough in my opinion, and even if you prefer the japanese style animation i do not think this is as big of a problem as so many people think
