I recently started playing the PS5 remaster of this game again after trying it a few months ago. I'm not a huge RPG gamer, but I have played them here and there. With that said, I was really enjoying the exploration of this game until what felt like a massive difficulty spike as soon as I entered the desert like area with the bird machines, on the way to Meridian. They just seemed massively overpowered out of nowhere, after otherwise reasonably simple enemies up until that point.

It made me think...Am I playing wrong? It's not like I wasn't leveled up. I did most of the side quests up to that point, and am currently sitting at around level 25. Any advice on what weapons or tactics I should be utilizing?

I will admit that all the modifications and such can be a little overwhelming for someone who isn't heavy into massive RPGs. And the design that went into each enemy, between components, elemental strengths and weaknesses, etc, seems very complex.

I am not hating on the game at all, as I really like it so far and want to keep going. The story is intriguing and the settlements are beautiful.

Any tips?

Thanks!
