Call For Action - Let’s go Leafleting!

Hey vegans! I thought that I’d share the links that I’ve found to be helpful in providing me with the tools to do vegan activism. Perhaps you’re one of many who experience social anxiety and you feel that it’s an impossible task to go out there and inform people about the sad reality of factory farming, etc. I feel that it’s not easy, but we mustn’t sit on our asses and allow this evil to continue. We MUST go out there and speak the truth to regular people who are most likely than not misinformed about the food industry.

Do you know what leafleting is? Leafleting is simply handing out booklets about factory farming and vegan eating to the public. It’s easy and very effective. In fact, did you know that for every two leaflets you hand out, you can spare one farmed animal from a lifetime of misery? That means in an hour or two of leafleting you will inspire countless people to change their diets and save dozens of farmed animals.

I love participating in sports events regularly, and I find that these are excellent opportunities to go leafleting and ask people about their food choices and suggest reasons for going vegan. The last few events that I went to, the people there were very receptive and happy to take the leaflets.

Also, I’ve been implementing this new tactic; whenever I sell something through Facebook marketplace or OfferUp, etc, I take the opportunity to give them a leaflet. If you really think about it, there are endless situations where you can hand out these leaflets and whether you have some degree of social anxiety, or whether you’re not very comfortable speaking to strangers, this can be a great way to get comfortable getting out there.

I always carry a small stack of brochures with me in my backpack or in my car wherever I go, so I’m ready to give them to a stranger. Other places I would recommend: at music festivals, county fairs, food truck venues, farmer’s market events, in the workplace, at a social gathering, the possibilities are endless. A conversation with a stranger might transform into a friendship.

Tips for leafleting:
Choose busy locations such as college campuses, transit hubs, or downtown areas.
Please don’t leave stacks of booklets in a public place—they’re almost always thrown out even if you initially receive permission. Don’t put on car windshields or in mail boxes.

Anyways, I’d hate to make this post any longer than it already is. I’m looking forward to hear from you guys in the comments below, and I’m always open to any ideas or suggestions you might have. And please don’t let these valuable resources go to waste, your support can really make a difference.
