Would something that catches your day slipping early actually be useful, or just annoying?

I’ve been noticing that when my day goes off track, it usually is not because of one huge thing. It is smaller stuff stacking up. Bad sleep, too much time on my phone, one stressful thing, lower energy than usual, and then suddenly I’m less focused and the whole day feels harder to recover.

What makes this frustrating is that by the time I fully notice it, I usually already know what would help, but it feels harder to actually do it in the moment. A lot of productivity advice seems better for planning a good day than for rescuing one that is already starting to slip.

So I’m curious: if there were something that could notice those early signs and give a very small nudge at the right time — like a reminder, a short reset suggestion, or some kind of friction against distractions — would that actually be useful to you? Or would it just feel annoying?

What would make something like that genuinely helpful instead of easy to ignore?

Hi everyone! For my class, I’m trying to learn more about the kinds of day-to-day struggles people have with staying balanced, keeping good routines, and catching things before a bad day spirals.

This short survey focused on:

  • stress and routine disruptions
  • what usually throws people off track
  • what kinds of support actually feel helpful
  • what feels like too much effort when you’re already overwhelmed

I’d really appreciate any responses. Happy to complete yours in return if you leave it below. Also, it's around 20 questions, so feel free to complete any!
