Unable to find the book, It's a Young-Adult supernatural.
Okay okay...so the book is dated anywhere from 2010-2018.
it's supernatural, there's a magic / psychic power system and element to the story
it's aboutt (excuse my flimsy memory)
A teenage boy living with his father.
He has an enormous supernatural-powered Dog/Wolf pet that protects him. the father disapproves of said pet
He has an injured leg
his father dies, and he leaves .
later on he finds a friend group, and they are all attacked by this enormous magic-made metal monster (IIRC, the monster is made of metal car pieces)
and the cover has the boy, the pet, his friends, and the aforementioned monster is in the back on low opacity. it is a book in a series, and i can't find it no matter how hard i try.
