I'm on a team that is setting up a new fabrication shop and I need to get signs going. What solution do you guys use and recommend to actually source the signs? A specialized sign/label printer from Brady or similar? A particular vendor/supplier?
What recommendations can you suggest for my own learning so that I can more or less audit an area and know we've got the right signs? Is the ANSI Z535 full or part something I need to be diving in? Or are there better comprehensive guides that are more useful that a standard? I hate the idea of dropping $300-$1500 on something like that and it be a good reference but doesn't actually help move me along. I wish descriptions of these standards were deeper.
I'm coming from a construction background and also have a few years in a structural steel fabrication shop as a safety manager in both areas. In the construction world, we're rarely be in a spot long enough to warrant many signs. In the shop, it was an existing environment to me and I wasn't given opportunities to consider change or improvement so I've got little experience.
