Being paid through Zelle
Is it weird/sketchy for a job to pay through Zelle instead of payroll?
Someone I know recently started doing work for a business and they’re getting paid through Zelle instead of direct deposit/paychecks. They were wondering how taxes even work with that and if it’s normal or a red flag.
Would that usually be a 1099 situation? Or is it possible the employer just isn’t reporting it correctly? Curious if anyone has dealt with this before.
