Seeing lightning-like flashes in one eye after laser (high myopia) should I worry?
Hey guys, I’m kinda worried about something.
I have pretty severe myopia (-7.00), and about 5 months ago during my yearly retina check-up, they found two small holes in my retina (not in my field of vision). I had laser treatment done, and everything was fine after that.
But recently, like a week ago, I started seeing something weird, it’s like a flash of light (almost like lightning) in my right eye (the one that had the laser). It appears on the left side of my vision, going from top to bottom.
The strange thing is, it doesn’t happen all the time. It only shows up when I’m holding my phone and looking slightly downward at it.
At night, I don’t see anything.
Outside in daylight, nothing.
If I look around (up, down, left, right), nothing.
It ONLY happens under indoor lighting when I’m looking slightly down at my phone.
I went to a doctor, and he told me it’s not a new hole (even though he didn’t actually check my retina, which confused me). So honestly, I don’t know what could be causing this.
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
