I'm looking for advice on which magic items to use for a sorlock. Our campaign is starting at level 11, and our DM is allowing us to start with either two rare magic items or one very rare magic item plus one uncommon magic item.

I'll be playing a shadow sorcerer/hexblade warlock, leaning more into warlock. I'm also taking Relic Keeper from Valda's Spire of Secrets, which each time you cast a spell gives your next weapon attacks extra force damage equal to twice the spells level. I'm also planning on taking Metamagic Adept a few levels into the campaign. My intended strategy is to use quickened spell as a bonus action and then use my action to attack with my pact weapon.

There are two options I came up with for magic items.

  1. Two Rare Magic Items

A. Bloodwell Vial +2 - gives +2 sorcerer spells and spell save DC, restores 5 sorcery points when using a hit die to recover hit points (my strategy uses a lot of sorcery points so this is vital to my build)

B. Outer Essence Shard of Evil - deals 3d6 bonus necrotic damage with spells affected by metamagic (most of my spells already do necrotic damage, and I plan on using quickened spell often so this will be a huge damage boost)

C. This option allows me to carry a sheild, granting +2 AC

  1. One Rare and One Uncommon

A. Bloodwell Vial +1 (same as above except +1 to spells/DC; still gives 5 sorcery points)

B. Rod of the Pact Keeper +3 - gives extra warlock spell slot once per long rest, +3 to warlock spells and spell DC

C. Rod will be in off-hand so unable to hold a sheild

I also considered taking the spell storing ring for option one instead of the outer essence shard. I'm not against this, but it feels more conditional and less consistently useful. I also checked to see if Rod of Pact +2 is an option for rare items, but it is not on our list.

I'm wondering which option would be better to go with. An extra warlock spell would be useful, but the cost to the armor class worries me. I'm also open to other options is anyone has ideas.
