Hi redditor's! Dont hate me again for asking this.

Just wanna know if anyone of you still received this kind of SMS-es like kidnap scams. My dad just received this Sms not mins ago. And i find it so funny. It's like old school type of scams. The scammer said that they kidnap me and sold me off to vietnam. And of course $$$ is involved too. I laugh my ass off at this scammer. But jokes aside, now in 2026 scammer's also want to do kidnapping scams? How does this impact in many years ago? As in back in those days, kidnapping scams is common. But now it is not( correct me if i'm wrong)
