Hi all. So I’ve been doing this SMM thing for a bit now. I started with 1 client who I’ve been working with for nearly a year now. When I first started, I went above and beyond my contract because I wanted to see them succeed and the numbers were proving that based on my efforts. However, as things shifted and I’ve learned what it means to be a SMM… I realized that I’m doing too much and getting paid very little. I love this business, but I know that I should be getting compensated fairly. I had a meeting with the client to discuss my new package rates to which I was told they couldn’t afford… I rewrote the contract and mentioned that we can stick to what we have right now for the next quarter. This also meant that I was just sticking to the contract and not going above and beyond… anyway, since these shifts, I’ve noticed that communication has been cold, I’m being ignored, I have to chase down information for the socials. I don’t know what I did wrong. It’s honestly been really confusing and hurtful… because there was previously a personal relationship with this client.
