PLEASE HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! i just remembered a book from my childhood about a mermaid with blue (or maybe purple) skin. I remember her having dark black hair but that could be wrong. The plot was that she was the only purple/blue mermaid and all the white mermaids made fun of her and she was lonely. it was obviously a metaphor for racism but I remember the illustrations being beautiful. I’m not sure what year the book was written but I was born in 2004 and must have read it when I was 5 or younger. My older sister was born in 1998 so there was a good chance the book was for her and given to me when she got too old for it. Any help would be great!!
