I feel like my situation is a bit more unique than others. I’ve been with my company for about 2 years, and just recently transferred to one of our other offices a few months ago. I recently found a better job offer and I’m wanting to leave my current one but as professionally as possible so that I could possibly have the option to return here in the future.
My only problem is that my current supervisor will not take kindly to this. In fact, I’d wager there’s a 50/50 chance he fires me on the spot instead of accepting the resignation. I also feel he’s going to try and talk me out of it and attack my reason for trying to leave and go somewhere else. I’m basically prepping for this to be the most disastrous departure I’ve ever had. Is there any advice on how I can mitigate this before I quit or should I just keep prepping for the worse?
