Restomod is a well known concept in cars but not so much in watches . The principle is that you mix & match old classic iconic designs with updated 21st Century technology . And that’s exactly what happens here . I’m working on this project with a team of the finest watch modders at present to make this happen . Share me your thoughts 🙏

Being an avid fan and collector of Retro Paul Newman style Daytona’s this new release by PMS immediately grabbed my attention and after some research immediately ordered 4 at once .
Three of them arrived the day before yesterday each packed in a superb high-tier individual branded leather blue pouch !
Before ordering I was truly impressed with the first released pictures . I particularly liked the Albino pictured here above . I had been looking for one since long and up untill now no factory released a decent , if any , Albino version .
The fact that these came in a 40mm case with a decent reliable 4130 movement pushed me even more to go and grab these . From what I heard the bracelets came from old stock of the late raided Clean Factory and this inspired me even more to buy with confidence and was an additional + for me .
So you can Imagine that after arrival I instantly put the Albino on my wrist and I wore it the whole day yesterday.
The Silver sunburst dial is really Impressive & mesmerising ✨ , a real attention grabber and the blue subdial and chrono hands are the cherry 🍒 on top of the cake 🧁.
The 4130 movement is also a plus compared to the VJ 7750 movements generally and commonly used in previous Paul Newman Daytona Reps . More reliable and more compact which results in a less thicker case .
However… as good as the dials and movement are , the case and bracelet are terrible and spoil *all* the fun .
Looks are fine , agreed , but the feel and weight are a real bummer . PMS’s case & bracelets feel so flimsy and light , just like you would only expect from cheap DH-gate sh*tters
I have several other Retro Daytona’s , from ADGF and FF factory amongst others , and these feel a thousand times more solid than these PMS one’s.
Sizewise my ADGF and FF’s are 37mm ( which by the way is more true to gen ) but don’t really look smaller on the wrist as you can asses from the picture of my display case .
All in all I’m really dissapointed after giving it a day of wrist time and I will most probably hardly or not wear any of these anymore just because of the feel they give on my wrist .
Considering these PMS Daytona’s come at a hefty price ( ranging from 748,- to 1050,00 USD per watch depending on the TD you use ) this feels like one of my mistake buys .
To the point that I am now considering to transplant the PMS dials & movements into QFactory or VSF Tungsten / Gain weight 126500 watches and thus create a sort of “Restomod” Paul Newmans .
If this proves not to be feasable , I’ll probably just part with them and try to rehome them because they will most probably get zero wrist time 🤷🏻♂️ .
We all have hits & misses . This was a clear miss for me .
Just ordered this custom built but have to decide if I go Matte or Sunburst for this dial ? Started off with an Oysterflex bracelet at first but not sure the fitting would be nice so flipped to Oystersteel. Donor Watch will be a QFactory Gain Weight Free Sprung V9 Daytona Le Mans 🏎️🏁…

What’s the best donor Daytona for Custom dials ?
I am in the progress of ordering 2 Daytona’s with custom made dials , one with a reverse Le Mans dial , the other with SWF Meteorite dial .
I want the case with the best lugs , closest to Gen bezel , weight matching with Gen and best possible bracelet and clasp . Saphire open case and Free Sprung movement a must .
I was thinking about the latest Qfactory weighted 126529 LN Le Mans 🏁 on SS bracelet with a JH4132 Free Sprung movement. Ticks most of my boxes and has the display case . But I read that the lugs are off and that the printing on the bezel leaves to be desired ? Do I need to upgrade to a Deep Crystal ?
So maybe opt for a UFO 🛸 126500 with the UF4131 Free Sprung movement and flip the bezel and add the Saphire open back ? Are the lugs , bracelet and Crystal better on the UFO ?
What’s your take on this ? So many questions but want to get this right from the first time . Advice/suggestions/comments highly appreciated !

I made a post that I was looking for a specific Prada Bomber that none of my TD’s could deliver . This guy approached me that he could deliver it , he was located in the USA , his account was only 22 days old which should have been a red flag 🚩 but I was so desperate to get it I closed the deal in a whim . First he asked me for $1250 but when I pointed out to him that a good rep only costs around $130 he immediately replied he mistapped and that is was only $120 . Second red flag 🚩. He gave me his Whatsap which inspired some trust and I paid him with Paypal F&F . Since then he dissapeared from the earth , ghosting me big time 👻 . No goods . Big scam . Reported him to Paypal with his account . They could do nothing since there is no buyer protection with F&F of course but flagged his account and were going to expell him . But they also told me tha these guys start all over again all the time , opening new Reddit accounts and new Paypal accounts . So people beware , a least you have his probably false name and his Whatsap number . The Reddit account he used to scam me is gone up in smoke 💨 !
