Homie Dashboard v2.0.0 - Music, Calendar, Digital Photo Frame and Thermostat dashboards

Homie Dashboard v2.0.0 - Music, Calendar, Digital Photo Frame and Thermostat dashboards

Overview Dashboard

Now Playing Dashboard A

Now Playing Dashboard B

My Day Dashboard

Memories Dashboard

Thermostat Dashboard

This is a major release update, hence the v2.0.0 tag. Homie Dashboard is now more than an overview and devices control dashboard!

You can now use it as your media player, calendar-todo-meals-habits, digital photo frame and thermostat in full screen. This multi-functional control gives you the ability to have different screens on different wall mounted tablets around the house or on your desk.

The biggest change though is the configuration decoupling that makes user adoption and initial setup much easier. You now only need to make changes in the config.js file. In future updates to the main html file you will not need to setup your configuration again. If there are changes to the config file, it will be documented on how to apply the changes and you will not have to setup everything from scratch.

New in v2.0.0

  • Separate configuration file for much easier user adoption and setup and future updates
  • Now Playing Dashboards - 2 beautiful full screen music dashboards
  • My Day Dashboard - Calendar, Todo, Meals, Habits
  • Memories Dashboard - Digital Photo Frame
  • Thermostat Dashboard

New in v1.1.0

  • Support for Spotify and Music Assistant
  • Support for Media Browsing
  • Alarmo controls

First Release v1.0.0

  • Works both vertically and horizontally
  • Fullscreen on first tap
  • No pinch-zoom, no text selection
  • Very responsive and fast to update entity status
  • Popups with many entities use a room accordion — tap a room to expand it, tap outside to dismiss
  • Notifications/Reminders

I have also added Alarmo support so you can arm/disarm your alarm seamlessly.

Thank you for the feedback so far. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I have been using Home Assistant for about 10 years now. I decided to create a dashboard for a tablet, which will be potentially wall mounted, in preparation to moving to a new house.

All the testing has been done on an 11" tablet, but it should work well with larger screens. With smaller screens there will be issues with elements overlapping, so this is not ideal for mobile dashboards.

As with my mobile dashboard, I try to have everything I need on a single page to visually understand what is going on in the house, with no scrolling. Then i can select specific things i will like to control, like lights, scenes, aircons etc. with as less tapping as possible.

The dashboard is fully customizable, so with a little effort you can make changes to pretty much everything to accommodate your needs.

I have been working on this dashboard for about a month using my knowledge, Claude and Gemini.

The only thing that i can't fully test yet are the blinds and irrigation as i don't have any right now.

If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Description

A custom Home Assistant dashboard built for wall-mounted tablets.

I created this dashboard with the design philosophy of a single page overview for accessing the most important functions and controls of my house easily.

Homie connects directly to Home Assistant over a Long-Lived Access Token and a local WebSocket connection which results in automatic caching.

Github

It has all the information on how to set it up using your own entities. I tried to document everything as much as i could, and created a setup guide with step by step instructions.

You can also find more screenshots and a bonus photo of Shumi, who has not been helpful at all in the process.

Edit: not sure why the photos are not showing in the post. Ok, it seems there are some photos now, but there are many you can check on github.
