Hey yall, im looking for experiences others had with trying medication for pots.
So iv had pots probably since 2019, had the suspension it was pots around 2021 and got my diagnosis last December so 2025. My main symptom has always been fatigue. Im always just so tired. In 2023 i got adhd medication and that has already helped me have so much more energy during the day, but im still feeling tired a lot.
In February i was finally allowed to try medicine for my pots. I asked if i could try ivabradine, but they told me they always wanted to start with propopanol. I didnt mind starting with that one, even tho some of the side effects were things i already was experiencing, like the cold hands and feet, feeling out of breath, being tired. But i was hoping that a lower heart beat would mean my body could work a little less hard so maybe i wouldnt get tired as much anymore? Nahh
Yea so the side effects just made me feel so much worse. So much more tired but in a different way then before. It made my performance at work worse (and i only work 2 days and i can do less then is expected of most)
So i called the hospital to ask if it was okay to stop these meds untill my next appointment. The doctor doesnt work this week so instead they made a new appointment for this monday.
I wanted to ask for the other meds, ivabradine, but now im feeling a little scared it will have the same effect as the propranolol.
I have decided to stop the meds for now cz i didnt want to continue feeling like this for another week. I dont think it matters that much since its known that these dont work for everyone.
So yea tldr; does anyone want to share their experience with ivabradine.
I hope itll help me decide if i want to give those a try aswell or if i should start focusing more on alternative medicine. I was hoping regular meds could have aided me in finding a better lifestyle. And a slight sliver of hope to feel like a healthy person again :/
