Quick question about the Null's "Force Augmentation" ability

New player here, trying to understand how class features work. In the source I could find, the Null has a level-1 ability called "Force Augmentation", which simply reads, "Your damage-dealing psionic abilities gain a +1 bonus to rolled damage." I'm a little confused by this. Aren't pretty much all of the Null's abilities psionic? And if they wanted all of them to do one more damage, why not just do that? If it was a buff the Null got later on I would understand, but this just seems weird. And, is it already included in the numbers given? Take the Inertial Step signature ability. It says it deals 5, 7 or 10 damage (plus Agility) based on the power roll. Is it actually 6, 8 and 11 instead because of Force Augmentation? Please help me wrap my head around what this feature does. Thank you.
