Dell Latitude 5420: i5-1135G7, 16GB RAM.
Pros: Better specs on paper.
Cons: Reported widespread BIOS bugs, motherboard failures, and CPU throttling (0.2GHz lock). I'm wary of Dell's long-term reliability.
- ThinkPad T495: Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB RAM.
Pros: Superior build quality, legendary keyboard, and stable firmware.
Cons: Older 12nm architecture and limited RAM.
Question: Is it worth sacrificing 3
generations of performance and 50% of the RAM just to avoid Dell's potential hardware headaches? I need a reliable daily driver for coding and multitasking (Linux environment).
Is the 5420's failure r~+e high enough to justify buying the ui owered T495?
