Review #7 Four Roses Mother's Day 14 year

Tonight I am sitting down enjoying this year's mother's day release by Four Roses. This specific barrwl us 66-3B from warehouse ME coming in at 57.6% and 14 years old! The MSRP was slightly higher than the previous releases but Four Roses has still kept the price point "relatively low" at 150 dollars.

Nose: OBSQ is Four Roses high rye mashbill and you can definitely smell it right off the bat. The first thing I notice when nosing it is a very herbal note reminiscent of Chartreuse, this pour smells super botanical. After going back for a second nosing I do notice a sweet almost herbaceous rootbeer note.

Palate: On first sip I am smacked by raspberries and vanilla. Towards the middle of the palate the rye spice begins to spring forward. While the palate is not extremely complex the flavors are extremely bold.

Finish: By far my favorite thing about this bottle is the finish. It is very long, oily, and coats your whole mouth. The rye spice that was on the palate tapers off, but you are left with a creamy dark milk chocolate, tobacco, and oak.

Nose: 16/20

Palate: 40/50

Finish: 26/30

Total: 82/100
