I purchased flights 2 weeks ago, leaving our local airport at 830am at the end of July. I've been notified that, for whatever reason, we're now leaving at 5 am instead of 830 am. This is a problem with kids, but it isn't the end of the world. The thing that's getting me is I could've booked that 5 am flight two weeks ago. I paid an additional $ 1,000 to not leave at 5 am ($200 x 5). I understand this is not a change personally directed at me, but it is a classic bait-and-switch. This should be a straightforward case with a refund due based on the price difference between the two flights when I booked them. I'm sure that's not the case, or at least that's not what they're going to tell me during the first conversation. What are my options here? What (if any) compensation should I receive?
