Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me understand inheritance tax. I have been struggling alll day with it, ive been in tears, ive ripped up pages of my notebook because im not getting it and im also failing every single practice question in relation to it. I was considering just forgetting about it and deciding that it would be the only topic for my SQE's that I would ignore. but before I get to that point I want to try my utter best in trying to understand it. I have mocks and am trying to learn it before I sit them. even in my practice questions, I just pick the number that's closest to my own. I've tried listing everything that is exempt/ has a relief for as well as everything that is taxable but someway somehow, a new rule comes up that ive missed. ive done all of step 1-4 where you identify the transfer of value... and so on. please could someone help me and even if it means you're explaining it to me like I'm a 5 year old I would still really appreciate it. thank you
